Balarama was the elder brother of Lord Krishna. Balarama Jayanti is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Balarama. He is considered to be the avatar of Shesha, the serpant on which God Vishnu rests.
Balaram Jayanti is celebrated every year on the shashti of Krishna paksha of Bhadrapada month. It will be celebrated on 28, August, 2021 – Saturday.
In North India, Balarama Jayanti is also known as Hal Sashti and Lalahi Chhath, in Braj it is known as Baladeva Chhath and in Gujrat this day is known as Randhan Chhath.
